Celestial Builder
Celestial Builder
This is a tool designed for use with the Celestial Bodies tabletop roleplaying game system by Binary Star and Charlotte Laskowski. It is licensed under the Built on the Grid license.
How to Use
To use Celestial Builder, launch the app above. Click or tap the menu tabs along the bottom of the screen to scroll to those menus. If you enter a Lamplighter name, the app will begin automatically saving changes you make.
Lamplighter Tab
This tab allows you to input a name for your lamplighter, their callsign, and assign attributes to them. Click or tap the "Edit Attributes" button and use the up and down arrows to set your lamplighter's maximum attributes. Click or tap "Confirm Attributes" to lock in those maximum values. From then on, clicking or tapping the up and down arrows will only modify the lamplighter's current attributes, so you don't lose your place.
Frame Tab
This tab contains the grid upon which your frame is built. Select a frame type from the dropdown menu at the top, or choose a pre-built stock frame with the "Load Frame Build" button. You can save custom frame builds by naming them using the input near the top, underneath the dropdown, and then clicking or tapping "Save Frame Build" toward the bottom.
You can re-arrange parts on the grid by clicking and holding or long-pressing on them, then dragging them where you want them to go. While building your frame, attributes such as shields and hull points will automatically update, and connection arrows will show you where power is running and which parts are connected to processors. To drop in new parts, use the Parts tab.
Parts Tab
This tab contains all the parts included in Celestial Bodies, including those that are locked behind certain conditions. They are organized by part type, and then into sub-tabs to reduce clutter. When you open a sub-tab, the part will be shown in all valid orientations. To add it to your build, click and hold or long-press the part, and the menu will switch back to the Frame tab. Then, simply drop the part where you want it to go. Bear in mind that you always drop the part from its top-leftmost square, which may feel unintuitive if the part is a complex shape and has been rotated or mirrored.
